Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American writer, syndicated writer of columns and a businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington has worked as a journalist, TV personality, philanthropist and author for more than 10 years. She also is the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. She was born in Greece and moved to England at the age of sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it when she was 21. Following graduation, she left her mark as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later she created a voice-based website that gave critical opinions on the political scenario. The fame of Arianna helped to attract several famous contributors who shared their thoughts on news, politics and culture. Arianna was famous when she decided to become an Independent Candidate in the California Recall election to succeed former Governor Davis. In addition, she led a Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient cars. She was named one of the Most influential women in media according to Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th place in this list. The same year, the Guardian listed her among the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her the president of their media company and also included several the other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. The way she lived her life was determined through her relationship with her mother, and the bond she shared with her dad, even though she was very close to him.
