Dolly-Parton

born on January. 19th of 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of living through her vibrant and expansive imagination. Before she could write or read she wrote her own songs. In 8 years, she was playing her first guitar. When she was 11 years old she started singing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. That following year, she made her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small label. Even though she was still at school, she established a name for herself in the local music scene. But her dream was to to perform at a much bigger scale. When she graduated from the high school in 1964, she moved immediately to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart at the top of Monument Records. Porter Wagoner began looking for female singers to join his TV show syndicated by a network at about the same as the time. Parton was offered the gig in 1967 and signed to RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. Parton quit the Wagoner's band in 1974, when her solo songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene outsold the collaborations. Parton composed "I I Will Never Forget You" for Wagoner soon after their split. The song hit No. It was the first time a single reached No.
